Sean Flanagan is a stand up comedian currently based in Nashville.

Sean is originally from the Boston, Massachusetts area and like so many things in life (ahem being gay) came to comedy later on. After completing a standup course at the world-famous Comedy Cellar, and the improv classes at Upright Citizens’ Brigade — Sean began to take NYC comedy by storm. Sean could be seen at Broadway Comedy Club, on shows like Gaylarious, and at midday mics across the city when sneaking out from his day job.

In addition to shirking his duties at various tech companies, he could be found moonlighting on The Ride. The Ride was a 75-minute improv and scripted comedic bus tour which brought the city to life for 50 passenger on its unique sideways-facing buses.

For several years, Sean moved to Japan in order to support his partner’s (now husband!) deployment with the US Navy. In addition to living the “milspouse” life, Sean was been a regular performing at Tokyo Comedy Bar, Tokyo Comedy Underground, and LGBTQ and military-themed standup shows across Japan.

Most recently, Sean has been seen at Zanies Nashville, shows across Tennessee and the south, and in 2023 won a nationwide comedy competition for standups affiliated with the military.
